The role of the Foundation is to raise funds for making grants to support education, research or development in pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical science. These grants may be in the form of fellowships or travel scholarships to support innovation, research and development or partnerships with one or multiple organisations, or corporate foundations.

The development and support of these projects have been the principal works of the Foundation since its inception. The FIP Foundation now sees its way clear to widen its reach by forming partnerships with FIP organisations or other organisations that support the objectives of the FIP Foundation or the International Pharmaceutical Federation.

These partnerships will be projects of a charitable nature and would be supported by gifts, donations, grants and bequests from estates to promote responsible use of medicines.
